Statewide and Regional Organizations:

A regional nonprofit organization that builds and fosters partnerships for the restoration of the Bay and its rivers. They provide assistance to watershed organizations, and to those interested in water monitoring programs and stream restoration.

Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania

An environmental education organization dedicated to inspire and educate the people of southwestern Pennsylvania to be respectful and responsible stewards of the natural world. They offer a full schedule of nature walks, lectures and public events.

Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission

DVRPC works to foster regional cooperation in a nine-county, two state area. City, county and state representatives work together to address key issues, including transportation, land use, environmental protection and economic development. Environmental Fund for Pennsylvania

A multi-media organization working to raise awareness and support for environmental organizations and programs. Producers of the award winning television show, “GreenWorks for Pennsylvania.”

Heritage Conservancy

A regional nonprofit that works with municipalities, individual landowners, developers, businesses and other conservation organizations to conserve natural and historically significant resources. Their Services include land planning, resource protection, community planning and GIS.

Izaak Walton League

Contact information for the PA division and local chapters of the Izaak Walton League, one of the oldest conservation organizations in the U.S.

Natural Lands Trust

A nonprofit regional land trust primarily focusing on the permanent protection of significant open space in the greater Philadelphia region through acquisition, conservation easements, planning and education.

Northcentral Pennsylvania Conservancy

A regional association of people dedicated to protecting, enhancing and utilizing our special natural and historic resources. The site contains information on regional events, land protection programs and individual projects.

Penn Future

Promotes renewable energy sources, preservation of farmland, better land planning and more through education and litigation.

Pennsylvania Audubon Society

Conserves and restores Pennsylvania’s natural ecosystems, focusing on birds, other wildlife and their habitats for the benefit and enjoyment of Pennsylvanians.

Pennsylvania Alliance for Environmental Education

Promotes and supports environmental education activities and efforts throughout Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture

The only statewide, member-based, sustainable farming organization in Pennsylvania. PASA actively promotes Farm-Based Education Programs, improves and strengthens marketing opportunities for farmers, and enhances community awareness about the importance of local and sustainable agriculture.

Pennsylvania Center for Environmental Education

PA CleanWays

Dedicated to riding Pennsylvania of litter and trash, PA CleanWays organizes cleanups, education programs and a local road, stream, and area adoption program.

Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts, Inc.

Works to enhance locally led efforts that support the sound use of the state’s natural resources. The PACD serves as the collective voice for Pennsylvania’s 66 county conservation districts.

Pennsylvania Environmental Network

A network of grassroots organizations throughout the state. They serve as a clearinghouse for information and technical expertise on organizing and on various issues of interest to environmental grassroots.

Pennsylvania Institute for Conservation Education

Pennsylvania Planning Association

Works to improve communities through planning. They promote the advancement of planning at all levels statewide through workshops, meetings, an annual conference and public outreach efforts.

Pennsylvania Resources Council

Provides information and technical assistance to communities, schools, and business on waste reduction, litter control and preservation of scenic areas. They also offer easy-to-understand community education publications and programs.

Pennsylvania Water Resources Education Network

An informal collaboration among organizations and public officials working for the protection and management of Pennsylvania’s water resources. Visit this site for information on grants, free resources, and opportunities to network with other activists.

Pocono Environmental Education Center

The Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC), advances environmental awareness, knowledge, and skills through education in order that people may better understand the complexity of earth systems. Located within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area (DEWA), PEEC is a place for students, teachers, families, Scouts, birders, botanists, photographers, hikers, and everyone else interested in learning about the natural world in a beautiful and informal setting.

Assists Pennsylvania communities to protect and utilize the historic resources they want to preserve through partnerships, educational and advocacy programs, advisory assistance, and special projects.

Western Pennsylvania Conservancy

A regional conservation organization that provides assistance to watershed groups and community and school garden initiatives.

Wildlands Conservancy

Dedicated to preserving land, keeping our waterways healthy, teaching the community about nature, and caring for orphaned or injured wildlife. The Conservancy has helped to protect over 31,000 acres in eastern Pennsylvania.

An alliance of organizations and individuals committed to promoting land use policies and actions that will enable Pennsylvania to strengthen its diverse urban, suburban, and rural communities and reduce sprawl.
